The Aquarium of Cattolica is located in buildings, that are dated back 1930, whose shapes reminds a naval fleet.
After a careful conservativ restoration in 2000, today all the area is considered a cultural wealth: it extends on an area of 110.000 m², that looks out to sea.
The external areas are accessible as public park, while in the interior the visitors can follow the two pathways, Geopolis and Acquapolis, dipped in evocative scenes, towards a deep knowlegde of the sea and its relationship with the man.
You can admire, in the 70 basins, beyond 3000 animals from all the seas of the planet; the sharks are the main attraction of the Park, where there are 50 of them, from the small Mediterranean Sharks to the imposing Grey Nurse Shark from South Africa.
The Aquarium of Cattolica moreover proposes “Faccia a faccia con gli squali": a true immersion in the basin, surrounded by these fascinating predators… the emotion of meeting these animals leaves an unforgettable impression.
